Join ABSA for 8 days of volleyball, culture, and experience in Australia.

We will be traveling throughout different parts of the country including Brisbane and Sydney.

When booking your trip, please keep in mind that you are traveling to an area outside of the United States, with its own customs, traditions, and culture. Additionally many of the sporting amenities we are accustomed to in the US are not available in other countries. We strive to provide you with the best the area has to offer! Some of our trips have extremely competitive tournament play while others exist to continue spreading volleyball to other countries. Either way, you will serve as an ambassador of volleyball and ABSA! We encourage you to complete your own research on your destination. Google StreetView is a great way to explore the area!

Travel insurance is strongly encouraged to travel with ABSA. Most policies insure your protection against cancellations or trips being delayed due to airlines, illness, injury, etc. Please double check you purchased the correct policy for your needs including coverage for COVID-19 related cancellations and delays.

You must have a valid passport to enter Australia. U.S. citizens traveling to any destination outside of the United States will be required to present a valid U.S. passport. Passports must be valid for 6 months past the return date. Some countries require a visa for transit or entry. Passengers are responsible to ensure that they have all the proper documents for entry. All names on documents must match the legal name on your photo I.D., and travel document information must match tickets. Please check the State Department website at https://travel.state.gov for further information. Immunizations may also be required. Failure to comply with these regulations may result in denied boarding, denied entry, and/or government-imposed fines. If you are a citizen of another country, there may be additional requirements. Check with the nearest consulate or embassy of the destination you are traveling to and find out the entry requirements for non-U.S. citizens.

You may enter Australia un-vaccinated. There is no need for masks or quarantine if you are unvaccinated, restaurant's and bars will also be open to the public.

For return flight, ABSA will provide ONE airport transfer at 6 AM on Thursday, July 2 to Brisbane International Airport (BNE). Please book flights accordingly (should arrive at the airport 3 hours prior to departure).

Day 3-Arrive in Sydney
Arrive in Sydney this morning and your Australian ABSA Tour Manager will greet you at Sydney Airport. You will be transferred by bus to your Gold Coast accommodation.
Volleyball training and first game in Sydney.
ABSA Tour Manager: Will travel with the team for the entire tour, to make sure your stay in Australia is well organized, fun and stress free.
Bondi Beach: This morning there will be time to visit and explore Australia’s most famous Bondi Beach. Explore this coastal resort beach right in the heart of Sydney. Relax on the beautiful beach, enjoy the great shops and cafes.
Option to explore the Bondi to Bronte Clifftop Coastal Walk. A spectacular walk with amazing views of the ocean and beaches.

Sydney Harbour Bridge: Catch a ferry from Darling Harbour to Circular Quay and go sight-seeing around the famous Sydney Harbour and view the magnificent Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Sydney Opera House: Participate in a guided tour of one of the world’s most amazing buildings- the Sydney Opera House.
The Rocks: This afternoon thee will be time to explore and shop at 'The Rocks', The original settlement in Australia on Sydney Harbour. 'The Rocks' settlement, is at the base of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Great opportunity for ABSA softball to play games against quality Sydney teams on diamonds used for the 2000 Olympic Games.

Darling Harbour: Bus transfer to the beautiful Darling Harbour waterfront and time to explore this Harbour precinct with its interesting activities, great shopping and cafes.
Paddy's Market: This morning, you will have the opportunity to go shopping and experience Paddy' Market. This is where you will find everything and anything! It is also where you will get some of the cheapest prices on Australian items.

Surfing Lesson: This morning you will have the awesome opportunity to experience learning how to surf. Professional surf coaches will teach you how to catch waves and stand-up on a surfboard.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary: This afternoon you will visit Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary where you can see Australia’s native animals in their natural surroundings.
The Sanctuary is an oasis with over 27 hectares of landscaped surrounds and bushland catering for over 1400 Australian mammals, birds and reptiles. Plenty of kangaroos and koalas! Be there at bird feeding time for the opportunity to hand feed some of the thousands of wild birds that make Currumbin Wildlife sanctuary home.

Day 10- Gold Coast

Byron Bay Day Trip: Travel to Byron Bay, a destination with beautiful beaches and marine life, including dolphins, whales and sea turtles. Cape Byron is Australia’s most easterly point where the in-service lighthouse is famous as one of the most popular whale- watching locations in Australia. Each June/July thousands of humpback whales travel past Byron Bay.

The town of Bryon Bay is a thriving coastal town with great shops and cafes, which are surrounded by beautiful hinterland mountains. We take a 30-minute beach walk up to the lighthouse, whilst spotting whales and dolphins along the way.

Dolphin Kayak Paddle (Amazing optional activity at own expense)

Take in some of the best sights the east coast of Australia has to offer. Enjoy paddling your own sit-on-top kayak (no experience needed) out through the surf to catch waves, get close to dolphins and if you are lucky, marvel at the size of the Humpback whales. A guided tour of fun, surf, marine life and the beauty of Cape Byron. (Cost US$55)

We had a great time! This was our 2nd trip with ABSA. Getting to experience the United World Games opening ceremonies was very memorable. Getting to spend time with the teams from other countries was an unforgettable experience. The various scenic tours from the salt mine tour was fun. The Concentration Camp Tour was a very somber experience. So glad me and my daughter were able to make the trip. The tour guide was awesome. Coach Brooke is awesome. I love not having to worry about where we stay and how do we get from one place to another. We just hop on the bus, relax, and enjoy the scenery. Can't wait for the next one. Thanks ABSA for a great trip!

This was our 3rd ABSA trip (The Netherlands, United World Games, & Dominican Republic). All 3 trips have been great. We have met lots of people and been led by great coaches. Our tour guides were knowledgeable about the areas we visited and we still keep in contact with them via social media. Specifically regarding the Dominican Republic, if you have not had the privilege to play in Santiago, you are missing out. The way the community comes out to support the teams and socialize after the games with the kids and players was very special. Lots of fun! The 27 waterfalls was fun and the water was cool (literally). We made some friends on this trip and had a great trip. Spent the New Years celebrating at an all inclusive resort with live music, dancing, free drinks and lots of fireworks in Sosua. ABSA does a great job making sure transportation, hotels, food, and activities are setup and schedule has some flexibility. The games are fun and most are very competitive. Also, had an opportunity to volunteer some time with a non-profit on the first day of the New Year (2025). Great opportunity for everyone to help out a non-profit and learn about their mission to help the community. I enjoy learning about the local history and culture of the different areas we have traveled with ABSA. We have already signed up for trip number 4 (Tuscany Trip) and plan a return to the DR in the future. We had an amazing time! The trip was very organized. We learned so much about the Dominican Republic and met lots of new friends. It was so humbling being able to do community service to help the people of the community. We definitely had the time of our lives! Thank you ABSA!

We had a great time on this trip! We met lots of new people and made some great friends. The trip was well-organized and informative, and we played against some fantastic competition. We learned a lot and had a great time. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone who loves volleyball!
